Anxiety & worry
The racing thoughts, the tight chest, the sense that you are always braced for the next thing. We can slow it down together.
I'm Angus, a person-centred therapist offering therapy in Skipton, Keighley and online. A warm, professional and completely confidential space to think things through, at the pace that feels right for you.
A free, no-pressure call. We just talk, and you decide.
Whatever is weighing on your mind, it makes sense when we look at it together, with a little care. Here is some of what people bring to counselling.
The racing thoughts, the tight chest, the sense that you are always braced for the next thing. We can slow it down together.
When everything feels heavy and flat, and getting through the day takes more than anyone sees. You will be met with patience here.
That quiet voice that says you are not quite enough. We gently look at where it came from, and what a kinder voice might sound like.
Running on empty while looking like you are coping. A steady weekly hour to put something down and breathe.
A loss, a move, a relationship, a chapter ending. When the ground shifts, it helps to have somewhere steady to stand.
You cannot quite name it, but something is not right. You do not need the perfect words to begin. We find them together.
02 · About Angus
Hi, I'm Angus. I'm a qualified person-centred therapist and counsellor, and a registered member of the BACP. After more than eight years working in the charitable sector, with a focus on community and disability services, I have seen first hand how complex, challenging and unpredictable being human can be.
Every experience of sadness, anxiety or distress has its own logic when we look at it with care. I believe being truly seen, heard and understood is often the thing that helps most. So when you share whatever is on your mind, we begin, together, to find a way forward at a pace that feels right for you.
Fifty minutes that belong entirely to you. No judgement, no fixing, no homework you will dread. As a person-centred counsellor I follow your lead and move at the pace your mind can actually hold. Starting can feel daunting, and a little anxiety about the first step is completely normal. So we begin gently, and we build a trusting space, one steady week at a time.
Fill in the short form or send a message. We arrange a free 20-minute call at a time that suits you.
Book your callNo pressure and nothing to prepare. We talk about what is going on and whether working together feels right.
If it feels like a fit, we book your first session in Skipton, Keighley or online, and take it from there.

A comfortable, confidential space in Keighley for face-to-face sessions, close to home for many.
Meet in KeighleyIf you are looking for therapy in Skipton, you are welcome here. I see clients face to face in a quiet, private room at The Divergent Space, in the heart of town.
Whether it is anxiety, low mood or simply feeling stuck, we work together at a pace that suits you.
For those closer to Keighley, I offer the same warm, person-centred therapy in a comfortable and confidential setting, a short distance from Skipton.
It is the same care and the same approach, simply nearer to home if that is easier for you.
If travelling is tricky, or you simply feel more at ease at home, online therapy gives you the same steady support over secure video.
Many people find it easier to open up from a space that already feels safe and familiar.
06 · Simple, honest fees
Here it is, all up front, with nothing hidden. It is £50 a session whether we meet in person or online, you are never locked into a block of sessions, and we take it one week at a time.
Angus helped me more than anyone will ever know. The sessions meant the world to me, and I hope someone else can benefit from this wonderful service.
Yes. Choosing a counsellor is a big decision, so I offer a free 20-minute introductory call. It is a chance to have a brief chat, talk through what is on your mind, and see if we feel like a good fit before you commit to anything.
Sessions are £50 each. The fee is exactly the same whether you choose to come in person in Skipton or Keighley, or speak with me online.
I usually recommend we meet once a week. Meeting regularly helps us build a trusting relationship and gives you a steady, supportive space to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.
There is no set number. As a person-centred counsellor, I work at your pace. Some people find 6 to 12 sessions enough to work through a specific issue, while others prefer open-ended support for longer term growth. We review this together as we go.
Absolutely. I provide a safe, private environment where you can speak freely. As a registered member of the BACP, I follow a strict ethical framework. What we talk about stays between us, with very specific legal exceptions around harm to yourself or others, which are covered in the counselling agreement.
My formal professional training and memberships are:
The best way to see if we are a good fit is simply to talk. Book a free, no-obligation 20-minute call. It is a chance to ask anything, and for us both to get a sense of whether working together feels right.
Your message comes straight to me, and I reply personally.
A gentle note: counselling is not a crisis service, and I am not able to offer urgent support. If you need help right now, please call Samaritans on 116 123 (free, any time, day or night) or 999 in an emergency.
Start with a free, no-pressure call. We will just talk, and you decide what feels right.
